Job Title: Cabinetry & Millwork Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cabinetry & Millwork Designer to join our team at Mattamy Homes Corporation. As a Cabinetry & Millwork Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing comprehensive design plans for prefabricated cabinetry, millwork, and furniture compatible with our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design kitchen and vanity cabinetry layouts based on existing floorplans and organizational needs.
  • Develop detailed plans and 3D models showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, elevations, cross-sections.
  • Consult with internal and external subject matter experts to understand organizational requirements.
  • Advise on materials, colours, finishes, lighting, and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards.
  • Deliver product quality of the highest possible standards that can be manufactured within specified timelines and budgets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Interior Design, Bachelor of Craft and Design, Bachelor of Furniture Design, or significant carpentry experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, technical spec sheets, and translate that into actionable cabinetry design parameters.
  • Experience leading full-cycle furniture design process.
  • Understanding of applicable legislative parameters (e.g. Building code) an asset.
  • Manufacturing experience, particularly in the context of large-scale CNC woodworking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in roboticized manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software (e.g. CNC programming, 3D modelling, autoCAD, Mozaik, Sketchup, 20/20 or similar).
