Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at MCW Group of Companies. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systems for various building applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for healthcare, hospitality, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Prepare and produce drawings and schematics of mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
  • Work with project teams and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Review and analyze other discipline drawings, including structural, architectural, and civil-external.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to contractors and internal production teams.
  • Reconcile project drawings and ensure accuracy.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience in mechanical design.
  • Design experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Familiarity with bid and tendering processes.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and Provincial codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
