About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Construction Assistant to join our team at VOIX CONSTRUCTION INC. As a Construction Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mixing and Pouring Materials: Assist in mixing and pouring materials such as concrete and asphalt to ensure high-quality finishes.
  • Framing and Construction: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs to meet project specifications.
  • Site Preparation: Level earth to fine grade specifications and pave and rake asphalt to ensure a smooth surface.
  • Debris Removal: Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance work on equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Machine Operation: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Traffic Control: Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safety and minimize disruptions.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Environment: Outdoors, at heights, underground, confined spaces, noisy, dusty, cold/refrigerated, and hot.
  • Work Setting: Remote location and construction site.
  • Physical Demands: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and attention to detail.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • Tools and Equipment: Hard hat.
  • Personal Suitability: Team player and hardworking.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
  • Green Job: Involves duties and responsibilities that lead to positive environmental outcomes.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
