About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Intake Specialist to join our team at the University of Waterloo.

As a key member of our Campus Wellness team, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and faculty.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting structured risk assessments, triage, and screening for individuals seeking mental health support.

You will work closely with our clinical and administrative staff to ensure optimal client care and make referrals to appropriate services as needed.

In addition, you will provide training and supervision to Bachelor's level residents and interns from mental health care programs of study.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a comparable field, and have 2-5 years of experience working in the mental health and/or student development field.

Progressive clinical and administrative experience in a student-focused post-secondary environment is also essential.

A strong understanding of equity-seeking individuals and groups, as well as excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills, are also required.

Benefits and Remuneration

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, estimated to be around $70,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience.
