About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Manager to join our team at Dairy Queen. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of food service staff and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff, including food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive prompt and courteous service, and that their complaints or concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure that staff are meeting performance expectations.
  • Operations Management: Establish methods to meet work schedules, estimate ingredient and supply requirements, and prepare budget and cost estimates.
  • Security and Safety: Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with security and safety procedures, including basic security clearance requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service environment.
  • Work Setting: Food service establishment in an urban area.
  • Supervision: 5-10 people, including food service counter attendants and food preparers.
  • Security and Safety: Basic security clearance required.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, and team player.
