About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned trading professional to join our energy desk as a Director of Energy Trading. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing basis and fixed price risk, with a strong understanding of physical markets in the US and Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active market making in US and Canadian natural gas basis markets
- Manage a portfolio of natural gas exposures across multiple locations and tenures
- Collaborate with trading and sales teams to deliver timely and accurate market data
- Provide traders and sales teams with commentary on new trade ideas, system enhancements, and fundamental analysis
- Liaise with Legal, Compliance, Credit, Technology, Tax, Insurance, Regulatory Reporting and relevant external bodies
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of trading experience in US natural gas basis
- Extensive experience managing basis and fixed price risk
- Knowledge of physical markets in US and Canada
- Detail-oriented with high integrity, honesty, and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Strong team player; ability to act as a partner and collaborator with the energy team
- Ability to operate under pressure addressing time-sensitive accountabilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency in use of MS Excel, Bloomberg, and other MS Office products
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution
