Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at the Wooden Nickel Saloon.
Job Summary:The Kitchen Helper will assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. The successful candidate will also assist with food preparation, portioning, and packaging, as well as receiving and storing supplies.
Responsibilities:- Assist in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes
- Prepare and portion food items for service
- Receive and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards
- Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruit
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors
- Handle and store cleaning products safely
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Reliability and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
The Kitchen Helper will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with exposure to heat, noise, and physical demands. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
