Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of experienced engineers on complex marine engineering projects.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams to support client taskings and deliver high-quality results.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations.
- Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with project statements of work and relevant quality procedures.
- Apply knowledge of domain-specific standards, including IMO regulations, Class Society rules, and Canadian Forces Technical Orders.
- Provide technical assurance of design deliverables and offer guidance to others on these activities.
- As the technical lead, you will oversee the technical team, analyze briefs, write progress reports, and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
- Lead by example, contributing to the objectives and direction of the DES Business Area, and supporting the management team's decisions.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Marine Engineer with a strong background in complex maritime design programs. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in marine engineering, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering projects.
- Eligibility for a Canadian security clearance.
- Experience working in the Defence industry, preferably in shipbuilding or ship repair.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of projects, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and earn the respect of clients.
