Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric care to patients with a diagnosis of major mental illness and significant impairment in functioning
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
- Engage in team-based care, providing consultations and longer-term psychiatric care as needed
- Provide culturally safe and responsive care for Indigenous patients
- Practice trauma-informed care and employ a recovery-oriented approach
- Collaborate with families and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care
- Manage concurrent substance use disorders and provide expertise in psychopharmacology
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) certification
- Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) certification (optional)
- Eligibility or current appointment as clinical faculty with the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine
