Job Summary

Aramark is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Dalhousie Food Services. As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving menu and made-to-order items to residence students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Ensure quality, courteous service is provided to all customers.
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prep, cook, and serve made-to-order items on the grill, using grills, fryers, and ovens.
  • Culinary Skills: Prepare cooked fruit, egg-based dishes, cheese, dairy, and plant-based dairy alternative ingredients, pastas, and noodles.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Maintain continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area, and assist with culinary auditing and temperature checking of food items.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Work effectively and efficiently, supervised and unsupervised, and may perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: 1-2 years of culinary experience required.
  • Certifications: Valid WHMIS, Food Safe Advanced Certification, and First Aid Certification considered an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, pull min. 35 lbs.
