We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at GUNITE & POOL SERVICE INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, and preparing layouts in conformance to building codes.

The ideal candidate will have experience with measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. You will also be responsible for building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.

We are looking for a team player who is accurate, reliable, and has good judgement. If you have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the construction industry and are physically demanding, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials

Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Physically demanding
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Own vehicle
