Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance as directed. This includes keeping the shop area clean and orderly, performing heavy cleaning duties, and ensuring the grounds are maintained appropriately. Responsibilities will vary day to day, encompassing tasks such as pre-loading trucks, picking up parts, and maintaining yard equipment.
Essential Functions
- Comply with and enforce Occupational Health and Safety standards and practices.
- Perform general clean-up of all facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of garbage and recyclables.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of all equipment and machinery as required.
- Organize daily tasks and prioritize work for self.
- Perform regular property inspections of common areas, building exteriors, and landscape.
- Ensure effective management of maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, ventilation, heating, cooling, and other daily activities.
- Provide general status reports for all properties.
- Collect and dispose of all garbage and recyclables.
- Ensure 24/7 availability of emergency services.
- Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds, etc.
- Maintain working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems.
- Maintain outside grounds, including removing snow, ice, and debris, spraying and removing weeds, sweeping, and cleaning gutters, water, and maintain sprinkling systems.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test, and adjust.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor.
- Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions, and scheduled work.
- Prepare, paint, and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, as required.
- Drive vehicles, as required.
- Pre-load fuel trucks, as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Experience
- 3 years of maintenance experience
- Experience in working with major fuel providers.
Education
High school diploma
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some overtime and after-hours work may be required.
