About the Role:The Career Development Specialist will be responsible for promoting and managing co-op and internship programs, as well as providing career preparation and support services to students. This includes designing and delivering workshops, developing marketing materials, and coordinating employer partnerships.
Responsibilities:- Program Design and Development: Develop and maintain program structure, philosophy, and direction; monitor compliance with institutional policies and procedures; create and update regulations and procedures to ensure quality control.
- Program Management and Delivery: Promote programs to students; communicate program changes; develop and update promotional materials; coordinate student intake; negotiate placement contracts; monitor safety of placements; work with Academic Advisors to approve student eligibility.
- Employer Support: Co-develop plans to identify new and enhance current employer partnerships; support coordination of employer visits; arrange site visits/check-ins of students on work terms; liaise with placement supervisors and employer HR departments.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Communicate requirements and expectations for work-term reports and employer evaluations; facilitate completion and submission of student work-term reports; coordinate grading of student work-term reports; support maintenance of program information system.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn other computer software packages as required;
- Strong organizational and time management skills to deal with high volume and interdisciplinary setting;
- Adaptability to changing priorities and working as part of a team and independently;
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and respect the confidential nature of student information;
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students with a variety of abilities, cultures, and backgrounds.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $69,288 - $83,492 per year, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan.
