About the Role:

Bayshore Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and patient Home Support Worker to join our team. As a Home Support Worker, you will provide personal care and support to clients in their homes, promoting their independence and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support with activities of daily living, including skin care, hair care, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care
  • Help clients with comfortable positioning, lifts, transfers, and light exercising, such as assisted walking
  • General household management, including light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Lead caring and meaningful conversations and activities focused on client emotional health
  • Use Infection Prevention & Control Practices and protective equipment to keep you and your client safe
  • Foster a safe and comfortable environment for clients, promoting their independence and well-being
  • Build a strong rapport and trust with clients and their families through compassionate and attentive care
  • Maintain accurate records of client care activities and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor

Requirements:

  • Positive and friendly approach to interacting with all types of people
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to various situations with ease
  • Eager to learn new skills and start working immediately after the training period
  • Available to attend minimum 8 weeks paid training, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
  • Seek regular, guaranteed work hours each week in a full-time or part-time position
  • Have a G or G2 driver's license and a personal vehicle to drive independently each workday
  • Pass a background check
