About the Role:
As a Home Support Worker at Bayshore HealthCare, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients. We are seeking compassionate and patient individuals who are eager to provide personalized support and care to those in need.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support with activities of daily living, including skin care, hair care, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care.
- Assist clients with comfortable positioning, lifts, transfers, and light exercising, such as assisted walking.
- Perform general household management tasks, including light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Lead caring and meaningful conversations and activities focused on client emotional health.
- Use Infection Prevention & Control Practices and protective equipment to keep clients and yourself safe.
- Foster a safe and comfortable environment for clients, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Build a strong rapport and trust with clients and their families through compassionate and attentive care.
- Maintain accurate records of client care activities and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Requirements:
- Positive and friendly approach to interacting with all types of people.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to various situations with ease.
- Eager to learn new skills and start working immediately after the training period.
- Available to attend minimum 8 weeks paid training, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
- Seek regular, guaranteed work hours each week in a full-time or part-time position.
- Have a G or G2 driver's license and a personal vehicle to drive independently each workday.
- Willing to drive in a scheduling area from client to client each workday.
- Available to work 3-4 weekdays, evenings as required, and every other Saturday and Sunday.
- Pass a background check.
