Job Description

About the Role

COWI A/S is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Engineer to join our team in North America. As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for leading bridge design and project management projects, collaborating with clients, technical staff, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead teams of engineers and technicians in producing drawings and calculations, supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of other engineers.
  • Develop and implement work plans, schedules, and budgets for bridge design and project management projects.
  • Perform structural analysis, design, evaluation, and prepare calculations and drawings for bridge projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, and other technical documents for bridge projects.
  • Research and review design options for technical and financial impact.
  • Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in bridge design and project management.
  • Experience in bridge projects with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, the City of Edmonton, and the City of Calgary.
  • Proven technical expertise, demonstrated experience supervising tasks in bridge design and construction, and working knowledge of modern bridge design codes.
  • Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in Alberta or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with 3D structural modeling with analysis software such as CSI Bridge, Sofistik, and ADINA.
  • Experience with preparing proposals and developing business development activities.
