We are seeking an experienced emergency medicine physician to join our team at St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our emergency department.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including anesthesia, dermatology, family medicine, general surgery, geriatrics, hospitalists, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, palliative care, pediatrics, plastic surgery, psychiatry, radiology, and visiting oncology and neurology specialists.
Our hospital is committed to providing excellent patient care and has a strong focus on community-based care. We offer a range of services, including a men's and women's health centre, chronic pain clinic, methadone clinic, walk-in clinic, and youth clinic at the local high school.

ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the emergency department, including assessing and treating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
QualificationsTo be considered for this opportunity, candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia, eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and have membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
Candidates must also have ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and advanced Airway training, as well as experience working in an emergency department setting.
