Your Role

As an Assistant Project Manager with the British Columbia team in our Vancouver office, you will support experienced project managers on a diverse range of projects varying in scope and complexity.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in supporting projects in various sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial mixed-use environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with experienced project managers to gain insights into effective client satisfaction and project delivery strategies.
  • Assist the Project Manager(s) in managing project schedules, tracking progress, and preparing tender and contract documents.
  • Participate in on-site coordination of contractors and consultants.
  • Attend project and site meetings to capture action items and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Foster open communication between the Project Manager(s) and various stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Offer relief support on other projects when available.
  • Adhere to Colliers Project Leaders' Quality Management System in conducting project activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
  • Possess E.I.T certification.
  • Maintain at least 2-3 years of experience as a project representative, handling multiple stakeholders and delivering projects of varying sizes and complexities in various sectors.
  • Pursuing the Project Management Professional Designation (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.
  • Preferably familiar with consultant and design management, construction contract administration, and project financial management.
  • Understand project delivery models, including design-build, construction management, and design-bid-build.
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Display a results-driven approach with the capacity to assume responsibility.
  • Possess outstanding organizational abilities and the skill to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Project.
