We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Stores Attendant III to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) in Sechelt, BC. As a casual employee, you will be part of our dynamic stores team responsible for receiving, unpacking, and checking incoming materials, as well as performing related stores duties such as shipping, stocking shelves, and transporting supplies.

Job Description

This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours, requiring flexibility and adaptability. Shifts can be called out via short call or pre-booked. You will work closely with our team to ensure the efficient operation of our stores department, maintaining a clean and tidy work environment, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, unpack, and check incoming materials, ensuring they meet specifications and complete related paperwork
  • Assemble, issue, deliver, and ship goods for return and/or from requisition requests received, completing appropriate documentation and records
  • Contact suppliers to resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies
  • Transmit faxes for the department as required
  • Store all received goods in designated areas
  • Transport stock and materials to all areas of the facility
  • Assist with physical inventories as required
  • Clean and rotate stock, maintaining assigned stores areas in a clean and tidy condition
  • Perform related clerical duties, including filing, as required
  • Maintain security measures, such as closing doors and windows, turning off lights and electrical equipment
Requirements
  • Grade 12 plus one year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including heavy lifting
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC (2015), and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019)
