We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Key Responsibilities- Provide quality nursing care to patients with complex needs, including those with unpredictable outcomes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the Nursing Process.
- Manage multiple nursing interventions simultaneously, prioritizing patient needs and safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BCLS).
- Recent knowledge and experience in Surgical Nursing, including care for pre and postoperative patients with TPN, Neuraxial Analgesia, Patient Controlled Analgesia, and Sequential Compression Device.
- Ability to use the Nursing Process and provide individualized care planning and delivery.
- Strong communication and interprofessional skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Surgical Nursing or recent continuing education in this area.
- Certification in Wound Care.

Language RequirementsAs a proposed designated position under the French Language Policy (HR-esa-12) Level 2 - French Language Skills according to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre's Oral Proficiency Scale are required.
