Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Network Technician to join our team at Johnson Fu Insurance Agency Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and administering local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. They will also be required to evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software, provide problem-solving services to network users, implement data, software and hardware security procedures, perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records, perform data backups and disaster recovery operations, set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, implement network traffic and security monitoring software, optimize server performance, modify Web pages, applets and scripts, research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines, respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers, perform Web-server backup and recovery operations, and supervise technical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users.
  • Implement data, software and hardware security procedures.
  • Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Set up LANs and connections to the Internet.
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software.
  • Optimize server performance.
  • Modify Web pages, applets and scripts.
  • Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines.
  • Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers.
  • Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations.
  • Supervise technical staff.
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in network administration.
  • Proficient in JavaOS, networking software, networking security, extranet, Internet, servers, desktop applications, file management software, multimedia software, presentation software, programming software, HTML editing software, Web service design, information technology, mapping and data visualization software, database software, programming languages, software development, MS Office, MS Windows, spreadsheet, social media.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
