Amazon Flex is a global business unit focused on delivering fast and reliable services to customers worldwide. The team is responsible for designing and building scalable, innovative, and low-cost operations using independent contractor Delivery Partners (DPs). As a key member of the engineering team, you will be solving complex problems and working on challenging projects in software engineering.

The Amazon Flex Account Management Experience team is dedicated to providing a user-friendly experience for DPs to onboard and manage their account status. This requires building and supporting configuration-driven systems that can adapt to changing program requirements across the 8 countries in which Flex operates. Our vision is to provide a best-in-class scalable platform to onboard and vet DPs, enabling them to start making deliveries and earning extra money to fulfill their goals.

A successful SDE in this space will understand and appreciate the complexities of full stack development, especially front-end development (React, JavaScript, TypeScript). They will bring knowledge around the importance of test automation and encourage a culture of curiosity and learning within the team. Your work will be cross-functional, involving partnering with other teams in Amazon, including Operations and Fulfillment, and Product, and Program Managers.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
  2. Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
  3. Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems. Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
  4. Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging team members to think creatively and take calculated risks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.

Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
