We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of our Distributed SQL team, you will play a critical role in building a revolutionary new transactional database technology that will transform how our customers design, operate, and scale their core business applications.

About the Role

We are looking for an innovative and experienced software development engineer to design and develop a database performance benchmark platform and workloads for our new distributed SQL service. This role involves identifying critical performance and customer needs, designing workloads to benchmark the service, and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a database performance benchmark platform and workloads for our new distributed SQL service
  • Identify critical performance and customer needs, and design workloads to benchmark the service
  • Drive continuous improvement of the service through performance engineering and testing

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of experience with distributed systems, including performance and concurrency engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
