About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our team at ZOOK, a global market leader in pressure relief solutions. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our manufacturing processes.

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will be responsible for providing supervision and leadership to our Holder Department employees. Key responsibilities include enforcing safety requirements, maintaining a hygienic work environment, ensuring quality requirements are met, communicating with other departments to ensure on-time production schedule fulfillment, managing department production requirements, determining subcontract machining needs, working with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and reliability, training and developing employees, solving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement, managing tooling and consumable supplies, interacting with vendors, and providing machining time estimates for new products.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A college diploma in machining and/or 429A Certificate of Qualification is preferred;
  • 4+ years of experience in a machining environment;
  • Experience with manual mills, engine lathes, saws, and associated tooling;
  • Experience with CNC mills and lathes and associated tooling;
  • Proficient with using a PC;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is an asset;
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision Dynamics or other ERP systems is an asset;
  • Strong time management and decision skills;
  • Strong effective communication skills;
  • Able to learn quickly and work independently.
Working Conditions and Salary

This is a salaried position with an estimated annual salary of $80,000-$110,000 depending on experience. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Physical demands of the job include walking 2+ hours, standing 5+ hours, sitting 2+ hours, lifting 25+ lbs, stair climbing occasional, ladder climbing occasional, and bending and twisting full torso and upper body repetitive movement.
