We are seeking a highly skilled Network Planner to join our Technology team at Rogers Communications. As a Network Planner, you will play a critical role in analyzing market-level KPIs, traffic growth, and coverage gaps to identify in-building system requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing plans for new in-building sites, upgrading existing sites, and analyzing alternatives to recommend the most economical in-building solution.
  2. Providing technical details to design appropriate in-building solutions to meet coverage and growing subscriber demand.
  3. Planning, budgeting, and initiating projects to support network evolution, meet departmental and organizational objectives regarding network expansion, subscriber growth, and usage patterns.
  4. Producing applicable project specification documents to initiate and synchronize all stakeholders to accomplish in-building system initiatives.
  5. Collaborating with Regional Network Implementation and Engineering teams for support and guidance on site acquisition, lease, and design issues.
  6. Maintaining up-to-date understanding of project status, identifying obstacles that have a negative impact on project completion targets, and recommending a course of action to resolve technical issues.
  7. Estimating costs and preparing CA for new in-building projects with National Planning and Engineering teams.
  8. Preparing capacity for events, coordinating with event management, and performance monitoring, conducting postmortem studies on event performance to optimize in-building systems.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A detailed understanding of different types of in-building systems, design, and optimization.
  2. A strong understanding of Wireless Access Network functionality and elements.
  3. Familiarity with Ericsson radio base station hardware and configuration.
  4. Strong knowledge of HSPA, LTE, and 5G RF and optimization.
  5. Aptitude for research, data analysis, and trend development.
  6. Strong planning and budget, cost estimation, and accounting skills.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and basic programming languages (Python, JavaScript).
  8. An undergraduate degree with previous experience in in-building planning and designing.
