About the Role

Arista Networks is a leading provider of data-driven, client-to-cloud networking solutions for large data center, campus, and routing environments. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Software Engineer to join our Packet Forwarding Engines (PFE) and System software development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement software solutions for packet forwarding engines and system software using C, C++, and Python programming languages.
  • Develop functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, and automated test programs to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, diagnostic software engineers, and customer support engineers, to bring up new hardware and develop features requiring hardware forwarding support.
  • Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in their networks, and develop software patches and new releases as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of software engineering best practices within the team.
Requirements
  • BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 8 years experience, or MS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 6 years experience, or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 3 years experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including knowledge of UNIX or Linux, IP networking, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with C or C++ programming languages, and applied understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills, with ability to design and implement solutions to complex problems.

  • Competitive base pay, with a pay range of $120,000 to $195,000 across Canada.
