Job Summary
The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 40 employees in a 4X4, 12-hour shift rotation. The successful candidate will coordinate with the Production Manager and Production Superintendents to ensure safety performance, production throughput targets, process cost control, environmental compliance, and government regulations are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct a team of employees to ensure mill policies are followed and labor agreements are correctly interpreted.
- Monitor and optimize the production process to ensure quality and target production rates are met.
- Coordinate training and scheduling of operating crew holidays.
- Investigate and resolve problems that occur on shift, taking immediate corrective action to prevent poor quality or less than target production rates.
- Maintain close coordination and communication with other department supervisors during shift rotation.
- Monitor and submit hours worked to Payroll and daily shift logs to Management.
- Generate work orders and purchase requests in SAP, using Intelex for policies and procedures, Microsoft Word for documentation, and Excel for data analysis.
- Lead safety meetings, tours, and investigations, documenting meetings and investigations in Intelex as required.
- Access the Warehouse during off-hours to sign out parts as needed.
- Monitor and coordinate all aspects of running the mill process, including safety, environment, and production, ensuring all mill policies are adhered to and followed.
