Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic/Millwright to join our team at Propak Energy Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing gas compression packages, engines, and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize equipment run times by applying knowledge of gas compression packages and engine/compressor component life cycles.
  • Interpret flow sheets and drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor problems.
  • Perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, and warranty work, often in remote locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor problems, and provide recommendations to the Service Coordinator and clients.
  • Verify proper settings and adjustments, including alignment, pull downs, rod run out, ESM, fuel gas pressure, and crankcase pressure.
  • Judge priorities on unit repairs based on downtime, customer importance, potential losses, and efficient working methods.
  • Provide high-level customer service and maintain documentation of mechanical services, labor time entry, expenses, and parts orders.
  • Complete and submit paperwork related to startups, servicing, warranty work, and other activities.
  • Provide direction to apprentice mechanics and order parts as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Millwright or Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
  • 5+ years' experience with Waukesha, Caterpillar, and natural gas driven compression.
  • Excellent administration, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work in remote locations without supervision.
  • Experience with new package commissioning is an asset.
  • Strong skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Flexibility for 25% overnight travel.
