Job Responsibilities:

  • Install flooring materials, including carpeting, hardwood, and resilient floor coverings, in residential and commercial settings.
  • Measure and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate installation and minimal waste.
  • Cut and fasten underlay and underpadding to create a smooth surface for flooring installation.
  • Prepare flooring plans and scheduling to ensure efficient installation and timely completion.
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, making necessary repairs to maintain a high-quality finish.
  • Estimate costs and materials for each project, providing accurate quotes to clients.
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants to prepare surfaces for new installations.

Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires regular bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting heavy loads. You must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a related field.
