About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Game Engine Developer to join our team at Amazon Games Montréal. As a key member of our game engine team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our game engine, ensuring it meets the high standards of performance and quality required for our AAA multiplayer online battle arena game.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership and support of core engine systems, maintaining high standards of game engine performance and ensuring our game delivers an exceptional experience.
  • Develop strong game engine development skills, diving deep into technical details, contributing to performance improvements, and enhancing the code base by implementing features and optimising low-level systems.
  • Understand project goals, identify development requirements, and assess technical feasibility to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to remain competitive in the gaming industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet technical requirements and promote innovation within our projects.
  • Help and share your knowledge with team members and studio teams, contributing to a culture of learning and growth.
  • Write clear and comprehensive technical documentation to assist future development and maintenance efforts.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 10+ years programming experience, particularly in C++.
  • 5+ years of experience in game engine development experience.
  • Strong understanding of game engine architecture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English.
  • Experience with Unreal 5 or a similar game engine.
  • Experience with or interest in MOBA game development.
  • Live game development experience.
