Job Description

The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with 3-5+ years of direct experience in energy insurance, ideally focused on renewable energy.

They will possess advanced technical expertise, underwriting skills and knowledge of insurance and underwriting principles, practices and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong connections in the Canadian Energy Sector, including Retail Brokers, Solar, and Wind energy developers, owners, and operators.

Responsibilities include independently underwriting new and renewal risks within underwriting authority guidelines; negotiating terms and conditions; reviewing wordings and endorsements; issuing quotes to brokers on new and renewal business.

Additionally, they will prepare detailed underwriting proposals for domestic Canadian business and for referrals, including London-based syndicate business.

Key requirements include understanding of risk management principles with an ability to analyze data and provide insights.

The candidate must also possess excellent negotiation skills and strong marketing abilities, as well as a team player mentality.
