We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to our residents in the Newcastle-area. Responsibilities

  • To provide comprehensive nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice principles to ensure timely and accessible admission for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
  • To ensure timely and safe resident transfers and discharges.
  • Ensure the safekeeping and control of drugs and narcotics, adhering to established protocols.
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs.

Requirements

  • A degree in Nursing (BScN, BN, or equivalent)
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with others in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Maintains residents' respect and privacy, ensuring their involvement in care decisions
  • Familiarity with the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes
  • Medical Clearance, including TB tests
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check
  • Clear Criminal Record check
  • Adherence to COVID-19 prevention protocols and mask-wearing requirements
