Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fitness Instructor to join our team. As a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality fitness programs and services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a variety of specialized group fitness classes, including cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to participants, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Assess participant needs and abilities, and modify programs accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other fitness professionals to develop and implement new programs and services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 10 and current fitness certification from a recognized organization.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
  • Ability to speak clearly and actively listen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
