Compounding Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compounding Technician to join our team at Deciem. In this role, you will be responsible for compounding a variety of batches, including aqueous-based products, oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, and anhydrous products. You will work closely with our R&D team to ensure that all products meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process batches within specifications to meet department batch execution targets
  • Dismantle, clean, and sanitize processing equipment according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Compounding batches as per SOPs and Master Formulas
  • Check and dispense raw materials safely
  • Operate various equipment, including fully and semi-automatic kettles, pumps, agitators, hoists, and scales
  • Perform calibration checks for scales, gauges, and mixers
  • Collect representative samples of product batches and coordinate with R&D team to ensure finished product meets standards
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of batching kettles according to SOPs
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Complete documents, such as batch records, C&S logs, and housekeeping logs
  • Maintain general housekeeping of compounding area

Requirements:

  • Ability to work while wearing a mask or respirator when needed
  • Strong English communication skills and math skills
  • Must be able to actively listen and receive coaching as required
  • Individual will be required to learn and adhere to GMP compliance requirements
  • Multitasking and ability to focus on executing priorities as directed by the area Supervisor
  • Must be very detail-oriented and have working knowledge and understanding of WHMIS
