Job Summary

CEDA is seeking a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Sarnia. As a key member of our shop, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including wet vacuum, dry vacuum, high pressure units, and highway tractors and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems, and pumps
  • Inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
  • Interpret work orders and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Participate in daily tool box and safety meetings to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
  • Certified Journeyman 310T Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Valid Class G licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years
  • Valid Class AZ or DZ license is an asset
  • CVIP licence is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to provide own tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Cummins and CAT engines
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
