About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Intermediate Municipal Engineer to lead and grow a municipal engineering team within our Calgary or Edmonton based Municipal Infrastructure Group.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and demonstrated experience managing a diverse range of municipal projects of varying scope and size for municipalities, developers, and First Nations clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading a team of Engineers and Designers on municipal projects, from inception through to construction.
  • Managing Municipal Engineering projects including Financial Controls, Project Management, and Client Relationships, in accordance with our Quality Management System.
  • Preparation of proposals, reports, preliminary and detailed designs, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Collaborating on projects with other professionals, including Geotechnical Engineers, Environmental Scientists, Planners, and Landscape Architects.
  • Planning projects, developing accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, and contractors.
  • Providing technical mentorship to staff.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • 5 -15 years of progressive experience in Municipal Engineering and Project Management, preferably in the consulting industry.
  • Experience or aptitude for proposal writing, client development, working in a team setting to meet timelines, and other skills appropriate to consulting.
  • Registered (or eligible to register) as a Civil Engineer with APEGA.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
