Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Interior Design Specialist to join our team at Segula Technologies. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a pivotal role in the engineering, design, development, validation, timing, and production release of Hard and Soft Trim systems, overhead, and lighting systems.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and packaging components to ensure they meet vehicle functional objectives.
  • Executing Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing to ensure the quality and reliability of our products.
  • Maintaining bill of material and change management to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
  • Providing prototype and production build support to ensure seamless integration with vehicle assembly plants.
  • Overseeing CAD model management in Teamcenter to ensure accurate and up-to-date designs.
  • Initiating weight reduction, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement strategies to drive innovation and growth.
  • Communicating technical product status to management to ensure timely and informed decision-making.
  • Supporting vehicle assembly plants with technical issues to ensure smooth production and minimize downtime.
  • Assisting service teams in resolving field warranty matters to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Contributing to root cause analysis of failures to identify and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
  • 1-3 years of engineering experience, with a focus on designing and developing at least one of the following: Restraints, injection mold plastics, seat structures/mechanisms, lighting, and/or interior system integration.
  • Knowledge of injection molding, painting, and decorating plastic components.
  • Experience with OEM or supplier design and release.
  • Proficiency in NX, Catia V5, and Teamcenter.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R creation, and execution.
  • Experience with component builds and execution.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master of Science in Engineering or Business, strong leadership skills, and experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Shainin Problem Solving.
