Job Summary

Waabi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance to lead our financial planning, management, and reporting functions. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, ensure the company's financial health and compliance, and optimize financial performance to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, forecasts, and budgets. Collaborate with leadership to monitor and adjust financial plans as needed to protect cash flow.
  2. Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and make necessary adjustments.
  3. Cash Management: Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships. Optimize working capital and minimize financial costs.
  4. Long-term Financing Planning: Work closely with leadership on pro-forma modeling, planning, investor communications, and fundraising activities.
  5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
  6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks. Implement effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
  7. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making. Evaluate investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
  8. Financial Systems: Develop, enhance, and refine financial systems and procedures, aligning them with industry best practices.
  9. Team Leadership: Lead by example in developing, motivating, recruiting, and retaining a highly effective finance team.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA certification preferred.
  2. 15+ years of progressive experience in senior finance leadership positions, collaborating closely with executives.
  3. 10+ years of finance leadership experience preferably within the technology industry in the US or Canada.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of financial management, analysis, tools, and reporting methodologies.
  5. Strong expertise in financial regulations, accounting principles, and taxation.
  6. Experience in developing internal controls and financial processes.
  7. Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  8. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  9. Experience and excitement in supporting a dynamic, high-growth environment.
