About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team at Pets People Practice BC Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Animals: Conduct physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
  • Lead a Team: Hire and train staff, including animal health technologists and animal care workers, to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.
  • Provide Expert Care: Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
  • Advise Clients: Provide expert advice on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
  • Operate a Veterinary Clinic: Responsible for the overall operation of our animal hospital, clinic, or mobile service to farms.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with heavy loads, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs), up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs), and up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgment, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
