Job Overview

Newport Childcare Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Professional to join our team as an ECE assistant. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in shaping the lives of young children by providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to effectively collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

Responsibilities
  • Child Development and Learning: Assess children's development and create personalized learning plans to cater to their unique needs.
  • Assisting Colleagues: Support co-workers with housekeeping and cooking duties, ensuring a smooth operation of our childcare centre.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain daycare equipment to guarantee a safe and healthy environment for our children.
  • Storytelling and Engagement: Engage children through storytelling, singing songs, and organizing activities that promote creativity and socialization.
  • Communication and Reporting: Keep parents informed about their child's progress and well-being through regular updates and reports.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with early childhood educators to implement programs that support the overall development of our children.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain a secure and healthy environment by following licensing regulations and establishing guidelines for behaviour.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Hold an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and a First Aid Certificate.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Possess a Criminal record check and other necessary certifications.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a passion for working with children.
