Medical Office Assistant

At Grace Hospital, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ward Clerk to join our healthcare team.
Job SummaryThe Ward Clerk will provide administrative support to the healthcare team, performing clerical, receptionist, and related duties as directed. This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining accurate records.
- Perform clerical duties, such as data entry, filing, and photocopying.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous patient care experience preferred.
- Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk training program required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of hospital-based information systems/programs an asset.
The Ward Clerk will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The ability to prioritize tasks, manage stress, and maintain a high level of productivity is essential.
