Water Treatment System Manager

The Town of Hay River is seeking a skilled Environmental Operator to manage the water treatment plant, distribution system, and wastewater collection systems. This role involves operating and maintaining equipment, monitoring water quality, and ensuring compliance with federal, territorial, and municipal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the water treatment plant system and wastewater systems to ensure a clean community water supply.
- Operate and monitor control systems and related equipment to regulate treatment and distribution of water.
- Inspect, service, and repair components & infrastructure of the water treatment plant, water distribution system, and wastewater collection systems.
- Read flow meters, gauges, and other recording instruments to measure water output, consumption levels, and chlorine levels.
- Class 2 Water Treatment Certificate, Class 2 Water Distribution, Class 2 Wastewater Collection Certificate.
- 2 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of Northwest Territories Water Act, NWT Health Act, and Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines.
- A competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year.
