Job Title: Senior Cloud Solution Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Solution Architect to join our Information and Communications Technology (ICT) team at the University of Saskatchewan. As a strategic partner to the University, you will play a key role in empowering students, staff, and faculty to achieve their goals through innovative technology solutions.

Job Summary:

The Senior Cloud Solution Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud services for various stakeholders across the University. You will work closely with research, network, infrastructure, security, and integration teams to analyze business and technical requirements and develop long-term architectural blueprints for cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and translate business and technical requirements into cloud solutions and integrations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, ICT leadership, and operations teams to identify areas of opportunity for improvement and solution development
  • Issue management, risk management, and reporting for the portfolio
  • Communications and change management
  • Provisioning services and developing orchestration for both pilot and production implementations
  • Participating in financial controls, vendor management, security, and compliance related to cloud services
  • Driving implementations towards technology standards, industry trends, and industry best practices in support of university goals
  • Aids in planning projects in detail, clearly identifying project scope, budget, and schedule as well as project risks
Requirements:
  • Experience demonstrating progression through increasingly responsible, substantive positions involving cloud services, solution architecture, research, cybersecurity, and/or information technology
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering)
  • Associate certification as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (an asset) and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (a significant asset)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and sound judgment
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities in both team and client settings
