Senior Microbiologist

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for microbiology and a commitment to quality? We are seeking a Senior Microbiologist to join our environmental laboratory team in Saint-Laurent, QC.

As a Senior Microbiologist, you will be responsible for performing complex sample preparation and analysis, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work, and ensuring that quality control criteria are met for all reported data.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing complex sample preparation and analysis;
• Following SOPs to ensure accuracy and quality of work;
• Ensuring quality control criteria are met for all reported data;
• Approving data generated (validation level 1) for which analysts have been trained and validated;
• Validating Level II data if required;
• Generating reports with results and faxing them to clients;
• Understanding and diagnosing analyses;
• Contributing to corrective action procedures;
• Ensuring deadlines are met;
• Recommending SOP revisions;
• Ensuring equipment is properly maintained;
• Using summaries to plan and organize work;
• Following all laboratory safety rules and regulations;
• Contributing to daily and weekly planning;
• Providing support for performance supervision;
• Coordinating laboratory projects;
• Validating and implementing new methods;
• Writing SOPs;
• Following up on contamination and interference in the laboratory;
• Questioning results;
• Other related tasks.

Requirements:

• BAC in microbiology and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related analytical field;
• Member of the Association of Microbiologists of Quebec;
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
• Attentive to detail;
• Dynamic, energetic, motivated, and positive attitude.
