Senior Microbiologist

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for microbiology and environmental laboratory work? We are seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join our team at Bureau Veritas Laboratories in Saint-Laurent, QC.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform complex sample preparation and analysis;
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work;
• Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data;
• Approve data generated (validation level 1) for which analysts have been trained and validated;
• Generate reports with results and fax them to the clients;
• Understand and diagnose analyses;
• Contribute to corrective action procedures;
• Ensure deadlines are met;
• Recommend SOP revisions;
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained;
• Use summaries to plan and organize work;
• Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations;
• Contribute to daily and weekly planning;
• Provide support for performance supervision;
• Coordinate laboratory projects;
• Validate and implement new methods;
• Write SOPs;
• Follow up on contamination and interference in the laboratory;
• Question results;
• Other related tasks.

Requirements:

• Have a BAC in microbiology and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related analytical field;
• Be a Member of the Association of Microbiologists of Quebec;
• Be able to work independently or as part of a team;
• Be attentive to detail;
• Be dynamic, energetic, motivated and have positive attitude.
