Job Description

Project and Financial Analyst

NorQuest College is seeking a highly skilled Project and Financial Analyst to join our Faculty of Arts and Sciences team. As a key member of our Business Operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the efficient and effective management of projects, procurement, and financial operations within the faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial, contract, and grant management support to ensure compliance with NorQuest College and partner standards.
  • Lead project management of key large projects, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and effective advice to leadership on divisional budget preparation and maintenance, including financial analysis and information.
  • Support the creation of the division's annual budget and provide oversight on divisional budgets.
  • Lead financial analysis, preparing cash flow forecasts, and updating monthly planned data with actual activities and expenditures.
  • Prepare analysis of expenditure trends, create forecasts, and review them for accuracy and completeness.
  • Understand the budgetary impacts of new initiatives, enrollment changes, staff changes, and implement as approved.
  • Identify program/contract cost pressures and provide recommendations for cost containment/mitigation strategies.
  • Manage divisional procurement and requisitioning, reviewing for account accuracy, available funding, and departmental needs.
  • Accountable for the quality of information and support provided to the FOAS Business Operations Manager, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate FOAS projects, including grant/proposal development, finances, monitoring, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with CPA considered an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years directly related experience in a post-secondary environment, financial services, project management, or information management environment.
  • Strong leadership with proven decision-making abilities.
  • Experience in a post-secondary institution preferred.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to human resource, operations, data, and financial management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of financial principles with a strong aptitude with numbers and software.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate plans, direction, and delegation in a logical and sequential manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact collaboratively and productively with external funders, clients, diverse faculty, and staff.

NorQuest College offers a competitive salary range of $67,798 - $89,797, depending on your education and experience.
