Job Title: Associate Producer - Indigenous Theatre

The National Arts Centre is seeking an Associate Producer to join our Indigenous Theatre team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, scheduling, and execution of our ReconcileThis project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Artistic Director, Managing Director, Producer, and Production department to plan and execute the ReconcileThis project.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with artists, partners, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and contracts to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with the NAC's Marketing, Communications, and Digital Engagement teams to promote the project and its outcomes.
  • Ensure physically, emotionally, and culturally safe spaces for all team members and visiting artists.
Requirements:
  • Strong administrative and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing theatre, film, dance, or television.
  • Proficient in budgetary preparation and management.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting agendas.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and/or in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit storytelling, performance, dance, theatre, music, and other forms of artistic expression.
  • Ability and willingness to share Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing with Indigenous and non-Indigenous people and organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Facility in both official languages.
  • Facility in an Indigenous language.
  • Strong knowledge of social media.
