About the Role

The National Arts Centre is seeking an Associate Producer to support the #ReconcileThis initiative, a four-year collaboration with Facebook (Meta) to provide transformative Indigenous Voices with funding, production equipment, and training to share their stories, history, and culture online.

As a key member of the Indigenous Theatre team, the Associate Producer will work closely with the Artistic Director, Managing Director, Producer, and Production department to plan, schedule, and execute #ReconcileThis, including outreach, artist negotiations, contract writing, budget management, and coordination with other NAC teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Artistic Director, Managing Director, Producer, and Production department to plan, schedule, and execute #ReconcileThis
  • Coordinate with Facebook (Meta) on artist training and equipment transfer
  • Implement and promote company-wide practices
  • Ensure physically, emotionally, and culturally safe spaces for all team members and visiting artists

Requirements

  • Strong administrative and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience producing theatre, film, dance, or television
  • Proficient in budgetary preparation and management
  • Proficient in scheduling and contracting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital processes and communication
  • Strong project management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit storytelling, performance, dance, theatre, music, and other forms of artistic expression
  • Ability and willingness to share Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing with Indigenous and non-Indigenous people and organizations

Language Requirements

Facility in both official languages is an asset, and facility in an Indigenous language is also an asset.
