Job Summary:

The Mobile Crisis Team Clinician provides crisis intervention services to youth, their families, and caregivers in a professional manner. This role requires collaboration with the Youth Crisis Stabilization System and its components to assess, plan, and formulate recommendations for crisis resolution and its underlying factors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer crisis calls, assess situations, and provide interventions in the community, referring when necessary.
  • Observe and identify potential underlying causes of crisis, providing on-site interventions, including mental health and risk assessments, safety plans, and follow-up plans for youth and their families/caregivers.
  • Complete required documents and provide clear, concise reports detailing crisis nature and subsequent assessments and plans.
  • Refer youth, families, and caregivers to suitable resources and advocate on their behalf when required.
  • Engage families in the resolution process whenever possible.
  • Support team members and act in a consultative capacity.
  • Provide triage and referral services.
  • Offer consultation to collaterals, such as Children's Mental Health, Child and Family Services, schools, probation, and police services.
  • Facilitate topic-specific training sessions to assist staff in developing skills for treatment plan implementation.
  • Work with Youth Crisis Stabilization System staff and external agencies to ensure continuity and communication.
  • Represent the Youth Crisis Stabilization System program within and outside The Link.
  • Maintain open communication within the organization and fulfill administrative duties as assigned.
  • Engage in clinical/professional development through reading, attending workshops, and peer and clinical consultation.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Services or accreditation from a governing Human Services College.
  • Minimum of four years of work experience in a supervised clinical setting.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or willingness to obtain.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months.
  • ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
  • Crisis De-escalation Training.
  • Valid drivers license, acceptable drivers abstract, and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and beliefs will be considered an asset.

Requirements:

A valid drivers license and use of a personal vehicle are required for this position.

Salary Range: $53,175.01 - $74,651.25

Hours of Work: 80 hours biweekly with varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
