Senior Systems Administrator

Targeted Talent is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Kitchener. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of our hardware and software infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform system migrations using Hyper-V and VMware to ensure seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
  • Conduct daily system monitoring to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact our operations.
  • Review system and application logs to verify completion of scheduled tasks and ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure all systems are fully patched and up to date to prevent security vulnerabilities.
  • Verify successful completion of backups to prevent data loss.
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing business.
  • Configure servers with associated hardware and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
  • Migrate and maintain customer email platforms to ensure seamless communication.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot infrastructure issues internally and for customers to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Monitor and maintain data centers at various locations to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Monitor systems for uptime, security, and availability to ensure our business operations are not impacted.
  • Provide tier 2/3 technical support as needed to ensure our customers receive prompt assistance.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of Windows System Administration experience.
  • 2+ years of Linux System Administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of network and storage fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring software.
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSA or MCSE) or equivalent certification in relevant programs.
  • HyperV, VMware, or equivalent certification in relevant programs.
  • Experience managing enterprise virtualized environments in HyperV or VMware.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale email deployments.
  • Experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Experience deploying and managing NAS and SAN storage environments.
  • Must have a vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driver's abstract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an MSP environment.
